Hello once again, it has been a while indeed, but I am back now. The family holiday in Sutherland County was fantastic; plenty of time for sitting in the sun (there was actually sun!), plenty to do in ways of walks, shops, sightseeing, etcetera. The North Coast of Scotland really is a fantastic place with a huge number of things to do, hidden villages and some of the nicest people you will ever meet, along with some of the most breathtaking views around. The one and only down side was the lack of a computer or an internet connection. I managed to get by with the magic of twitter, but unfortunately on my phone’s small touch screen, the WordPress app was not terribly useful.
Without a real internet connection, I also found myself flying head first out of the loop, thankfully not into a massive mound of shite (if you haven’t watched any of ‘The Thick of It’, you should), with no access to proper news stories whatsoever, except when my network deigned to allow me such a privilege. This means that for the next couple of days, I am going to be cramming the past two weeks news and events in a blind panic to get back up to speed. Once that’s done, blogging will well and truly recommence with actual topics being discussed, I know, quite unheard of.
I’m hoping to have a post about Egypt and the developments there up, some time tomorrow, when I know what’s going on (There wasn’t even a television there!) and of course the obligatory socialist rant about the royal baby, my opinions of the latter apparently constitute my immediate sectioning according to my facebook friends, but we’ll let you decide. I also have a bit of an idea for a series of posts on Scottish Currency post independence.
As far as the extra media goes, i.e., Twitter for now, in the past two weeks, my Twitter account has taken off reasonably well, and hopefully that will mean a little more traffic around here, it does get lonely here sometimes. I am also planning on starting a vlog this summer, perhaps using the currency series to kick that off, timing of that will depend on what else is going on too, what with university and other work.
However, I did promise you some photos of my trip, and I shall not disappoint you, so I shall leave you with a couple of my favourite pictures from the holiday. Thanks for reading.
